Late-Night Milan: Where to Meet After Midnight
For when the conversation (or the party) is too good to end.
It's past midnight. You're not ready to go home yet.
Where do you go? And more importantly, where can you go that's fair for everyone's journey home?
Here's the late-night guide to Milan.
The Go-To Spot: Le Colonne di San Lorenzo
Vibe: The ultimate outdoor meeting spot. Grab a drink from a nearby shop and join the crowds.
The Catch: It's not super close to a metro, and getting home can be a challenge if you don't live centrally. Night buses are your friend here.
For Late-Night Cocktails: Navigli
Vibe: Many of the bars along the canals stay open very late, especially on weekends.
The Catch: Like Colonne, it's a destination. If no one lives nearby, it's a long way home for everyone. The M2 at Porta Genova closes around 12:30 AM.
A Fairer Alternative: Isola & Garibaldi
Vibe: This area is full of cool bars that have a more local feel and stay open late.
The Win: It's a major transport hub. Even after the metro closes, you have better access to night buses and train services from Garibaldi station. It's a much fairer bet for friends scattered across the city.
Another Smart Choice: Porta Romana
Vibe: A bit more relaxed than Isola, but still plenty of late-night options.
The Win: The M3 runs later than other lines on weekends, giving you more flexibility. It's a great midway point for friends in the south and center.
A good night out shouldn't end with a stressful, hour-long journey home.
Plan your late-night rendezvous as strategically as your first drink.
