In Lisbon, you don't need a fancy rooftop bar.
The city gives you its best views for free.
Often with a kiosk selling cheap beer nearby. It's perfect.
The Must-Visit Miradouros
1. Miradouro da Senhora do Monte
The Vibe: The highest viewpoint. The undisputed queen. You see everything from here: the castle, the bridge, the whole city. It's a bit of a climb, but 100% worth it for the sunset.
2. Miradouro de Santa Luzia
The Vibe: The most romantic one. Covered in bougainvillea and blue-and-white tiles (azulejos). It looks out over the Alfama district and the Tagus river. Pure charm.
3. Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara
The Vibe: A big, garden-like terrace with a kiosk bar. It's a proper hangout spot with amazing views across to the castle. Great people-watching and a lively atmosphere in the evening.
4. Miradouro das Portas do Sol
The Vibe: Right next to Santa Luzia, but with a more open, sunny feel. There's a cafe and a statue of St. Vincent. It's the classic postcard view of Alfama. Always a good choice.
5. Miradouro da Graça
The Vibe: A local favorite, right by a beautiful church. It's shaded by pine trees and has a relaxed, authentic feel. Less frantic than the others, and perfect for a quiet chat.
